My New Eyes
I should probably wait and make this post after I’ve done something actually interesting, but I can’t help myself. Yesterday I got a brand new camera and I’ve been fussing around with the thing, trying to figure it out and all. It’s about 10 years newer than the model I have been using and I’m not the most technologically advanced young adult out there. Also, I have this unnatural aversion to actually reading user manuals…
Anyway, even though everything is still pretty much dead and lifeless outside, despite it being nearly May, I’m not letting anything stop me from shooting whatever I can find out there. I really can’t wait until the grass is green and the flowers bloom again. But for now, while testing out my new camera, I’ve found the budding tree just outside my bedroom window particularly photogenic. I had never really noticed it before, but the zoom factor I’ve got is stunning. Once I actually know how to use this camera properly (you know, when I’m no longer pressing random buttons and completely guessing on the outcome) I expect to be at least twice as giddy as I am now. And of course I hope to be able to take some more decent photos.
Some of the photos are much too out of focus and blurry. Steady hands I apparently don’t have. And my tripod is not here yet. In the meantime I will just have to learn how to manually set my camera’s settings. Unfortunately I think that might actually involve perusing the user guide. Drat..
