This blog started out as an extension of my work found on ex-astris1701 @ deviantART.com but it’s really become its own freestanding interest of mine.

In my spare time or for freelance work I enjoy working with:

ex-astris1701 deviantART gallery icon preview3D Renderings
Abstract Art
Apophysis Fractals
Celestial Art
General Digital Art
Graphic Design
and Typography among other things.

I consider myself an eternal student in each of these subjects, as in all areas of life. I never tire of learning new things, creating, playing, and experimenting. And I find there’s nothing quite as rewarding as completing a project satisfactorily. Therefore I’ve set up this little blog in order to help myself learn and grow, as well as provide a conduit, someplace I can display the work I create just for fun (and  might not upload elsewhere). And that’s that! That’s why I’m here. This blog is totally non-profit and is just my way of staying creative :)

Aside from creating and playing around with the aforementioned artistic pursuits I enjoy solving problems from algebra to a Rubik’s cube. I don’t like to travel, but that doesn’t mean I don’t explore. I’m an all around science fiction fan regularly geeking out about things like Star Trek (TOS, TNG, & Voyager), Quantum Leap (until that last episode), Star Wars, Eureka, and Stargate (SG-1 and Atlantis plus all three movies). I hate violence and harsh words and would rather spend my time enjoying innocent, upbeat things in life than do anything else. I can’t imagine life without good music. I have strong opinions and am not afraid to voice them, but that doesn’t mean I want to debate with anyone. Being inquisitive, I like learning, but I also like getting straight to the point keeping things black and white. I’m irritatingly sensitive, but I’m not at all sentimental. I try not to think about how completely at odds my brain can be. I’ve got pretty bad road rage, but it  usually never leaves the car. And somehow I manage to balance my tendency to take things very seriously with my childlike love for cartoons and fuzzy animals for an all around okay life.

My name is Mikalai. I am a polygraphic designer from Russia. First I would like to express my admiration for your work!!! And secondly, I would like to ask whether I can use a photo under the link below for a plastic card of my client?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Best regards,

    • Hello Mikalai,

Thanks for getting in touch with me! I’ve sent you a response via deviantART notes.

Hi my name is Karin, I am from South Africa and totally love your little crochet critters, I have previously made similat critters as little gifts to go with the baby blankets that I make for friends, and your collection is so inspiring, I change the pattern a little and put a bell inside. I hope you don’t mind if I borrow some of your ideas.

    • Hi Karin,
Thank you for your comment! I’m very glad you like my crochet critters. Changing the pattern and/or being inspired by my design is quite all right, of course, as long as you realize that the patterns **and** designs (that is the way the critter looks, its shape, its features) are still copyright to me. As such I ask that you not profit from (do not sell) anything based on my critters.

  1. I love your blog, so have nominated you for a wonderful team member award. here are the details. http://nanacathydotcom.wordpress.com/2013/03/26/award-wonderful-team-member-readership-award/
